The Donor Reserve program
This unique program offers you greater family exclusivity by granting you access to a select collection of our donors. Choose either a donor whose California Cryobank® vials are made available to your family only, or one with California Cryobank vials we’ll make available to a limited number of families.
How it works
We’ve created a select collection of donors, who have a limited number of California Cryobank vials available for purchase. None of these donors have ever sold their vials through California Cryobank, but each has undergone the same comprehensive screening as our other qualified donors to ensure they meet our stringent standards. You can choose from two types of donors in the program.

The difference between the two is the number of family units we have available for each donor. A family unit consists of 4 of our ICI or IUI vials, plus 1 IVF vial.California Cryobank cannot guarantee that a donor in the Donor Reserve Program has not in the past given or will not in the future give through another sperm bank not connected with California Cryobank. We can only make representations based on the vials and family units for the Donor Reserve Program over which we have control.
Platinum Reserve: complete family exclusivity
Choosing a Platinum Reserve level donor ensures that the entirety of California Cryobank’s vials of the donor will be held in reserve for only you. You’ll receive 4 ICI or IUI vials plus 1 IVF vial and any additional vials that are available for that donor. You can choose to use them immediately or store them for use at a later time.

Silver Reserve: shared family exclusivity
Choosing a Silver Reserve level donor allows you and up to only nine other families to have access to California Cryobank’s vials of the donor. You’ll receive 4 ICI or IUI vials plus 1 IVF vial. Any additional vials belonging to the donor will be available, on a first-come first-served basis, for purchase by you or another family who has purchased a family unit of the donor.

Any additionally available single vials from this donor may be purchased for $3,000 per vial on a first-come, first-served basis.

In fact, you can filter your search to view only these Reserve Donors in our portfolio, immediately. Some common questions about the Donor Reserve program
Donor Reserve families will follow the same subscription model, rules, and criteria as any other California Cryobank family. This includes the standard rules that apply to receiving your Donor Keepsake, which will be offered once you report your pregnancy.
All of your vials will be shipped to you or your clinic when you’re ready, free of charge — even if multiple shipments are required.
Donor reactivation (the opportunity to request additional donations from your donor and purchase those “new” donations) will not be available for Donor Reserve clients.
All Donor Reserve program families will enjoy five years of free storage for their donor’s vials. After five years, you will be subject to the standard storage rate at the time of renewal.
Yes, standard international rules will apply.
California Cryobank can only control our own inventory of donor sperm vials and family units. We are able to limit the number of families who can purchase family units and vials of your Donor Reserve program donor and limit the number of family units we will sell of your Donor Reserve program donor. We ask all our donors to adhere to their written agreement with California Cryobank that they do not participate in other sperm donation programs. However, we cannot stop a donor from donating to another sperm bank or guarantee that a donor has not previously donated to another sperm bank. Therefore, it is possible that your donor has previously made, or will make in the future, donations at another sperm bank.
