Secure shipping
Providing both domestic and international shipping, sperm vials are shipped in liquid nitrogen "dry" shippers to maintain the quality and proper temperature until they are delivered.
Safe and easy storage
You can purchase vials to ship immediately or store them at our state-of-the-art facility until you’re ready. Plus, storage discounts are available with our Family Today & Family Tomorrow® program.
Flexible vial management
You can buy multiple vials of your selected donor, store them with us, and then exchange them for another donor. Or, you can also return them (unused, before they ship) at a later date for 50% of the original purchase price.
Vial transfers
We provide a free family transfer for our LGBTQ+ families. This means we can transfer the ownership of a donor’s vials from one (intended parent) partner to the other, should they both plan on using that donor’s sperm to become pregnant.

Expanded genetic testing for donors
While all people carry genetic mutations for recessively inherited disorders, most have no family history of the condition. Knowing what mutations the egg source carries (if any), and then choosing a sperm donor who’s screened negative for those same conditions, is the best way to decrease a donor-conceived individual's risk for autosomal recessive disorders. If you have questions or concerns about finding the best genetic match for your family, please reach out to our reproductive genetic specialists.

It is not possible to test for or to identify every genetic condition or mutation. Genetic testing can reduce, but cannot eliminate, the risk for the genetic diseases included in that particular test. Interpretation of genetic data can also change over time as genetic technology and knowledge is improved.
Updates in donors’ medical histories
We ask our donors to keep us updated on their personal and family medical histories, which we can make available to you, in case you want to include them as part of your child's medical records. Our team may also notify you about significant donor updates if the information could be relevant to your child's health.

Our in-house team of reproductive genetic specialists is on hand to provide insight and answer all questions you may have regarding donor screening and genetic test results, medical updates, and special testing requests.

You’ll, of course, want to get the most complete picture of who your donor really is. For that reason, we’ve included information that sometimes only California Cryobank provides. In that way, you can go beyond basic facts to get more detailed information, and a deeper, more personal look at our donors — to help you make the right choice for your family.
Genetic test summary (GTS)
A summary of the donor's carrier screening or copy of the actual results.
Extended donor profile
The extended donor profile gives you the opportunity to get to know more about each donor. That includes even more information about his education (even SAT scores when available), his hobbies, which sports he prefers, and fun facts like what makes him laugh.
Donor personal essay
Get to know donors on a deeper level by reading personal essays that they have written themselves.
Childhood photos
See adorable photos of donors between the ages of 6 months and 12 years.

We receive health and genetic updates from our donors. New carrier screening results are added to the donor’s GTS and made available on his online profile. New health information about the donor, his family members, or other donor-conceived individuals will be sent to you directly if it could significantly increase risk to your child’s health.
